CAIS, an alternative investment platform for independent financial advisors, has integrated Anthropic’s Claude as a Model Context Protocol server, enabling advisors to query fund data, analyze performance and surface portfolio insights within their existing workspace.
The integration allows advisors to access alternative investment intelligence without switching platforms, the company said. It is currently available to a select group of advisors within the CAIS network.
“(Artificial intelligence) is foundational to everything we are building at CAIS for the advisor and asset manager communities,” Kan Kotecha, chief technology officer at CAIS, said in a statement. “Our integration with Claude marks an important step in continuing our mission of empowering advisors to use CAIS as their one platform solution.”
The integration builds on CAISey, CAIS’ AI solution for streamlining platform information about alternative investments and capital markets.
CAIS is developing multiple interface layers to support its “Alts Engine” strategy, an integrated infrastructure designed to automate alternative investment workflows across partner platforms, the company said.
“By expanding our AI-driven APIs and launching CAIS as an MCP server, we’re helping our clients efficiently extend those capabilities with access to alternative investments and capital markets,” CAIS COO Brendan Cuddihy said in a statement.
The company’s technology initiatives include Compass, a portfolio-construction tool, and an enterprise solution for integrating alternative investments into TAMPs and managed account platforms. CAIS recently partnered with RedBlack, a rebalancing and trading platform, to bring alternative investment capabilities into advisor platforms.
The news also came just a few weeks after another major alts platform, iCapital, also announced it was working with Anthropic for the next phase of its artificial intelligence strategy.
